Africa Day Celebrations 2021 in Melbourne

Africa Day 2019

Africa Day Celebrations 2021 in Melbourne

Each year, Africa Day is celebrated around the world, as African Liberation Day in partnership with the United Nations, the African Union and Non-Government and community organisations.

Returning for its 9th year, the Africa Day Gala Dinner will be hosted by The Africa Day Australia committee in Melbourne on Saturday 22 May 2021.

It’s set to be a glamorous evening with the who’s who of the African community attending the dinner at the iconic Melbourne Town Hall.

Guests include African Australian professionals, community and business leaders, political and VIP’s representing government.

The Africa Day Gala Dinner has been organised by Africa Day Australia Inc. (AMCF sister organisation) in Melbourne annually since 2013.

Each year the event celebrates the cultural diversity of the African diaspora in Melbourne and is an opportunity for the African community to celebrate success.

It also acknowledges the economic benefits that the community collectively brings to Australia and encourages community members to unite and strengthen their bonds.

The event also marks the end of the month-long activities in Melbourne celebrating the founding of the African Union (formerly Organisation of African Unity) on 25 May 1963.

The Premier of Victoria, The Hon Daniel Andrews and the Lord Mayor of Melbourne, The Right Honourable Sally Capp are expected to be the keynote speakers for the evening.

An exclusive African inspired 3 course dinner will be served with complimentary beer and wine and dancing to African classics from Wise King Entertainment.
