The barista champions pushing the boundaries of coffee in Timor-Leste
In 2018, Agora Food Studio brought the two national barista champions of Timor-Leste to Sydney to work with and learn from some of the best Australian roasters in the industry.
These champions of coffee, Julia and Tozy, have now taken this knowledge back to Timor-Leste, where they will share what they have learnt with other Timorese baristas to begin roasting their own coffee, thus creating a coffee incubator that provides people with the space, equipment and classes to discover the world of specialty coffee.
Agora Food Studio is a social enterprise incubator in Dili that focuses on mentoring Timorese youth in food, coffee, and tourism, with values deeply-rooted in environmental sustainability, collaboration and promoting heritage of place.
