Meet Australia’s biggest Mohanlal fan, Corrie Hinschen

In June 2018, South Indian superstar Mohanlal graced his Sydney fans with a four-hour show, featuring music, dancing and acting from some of his most iconic films across the decades.

We had the chance to speak with one of his most excited fans, Corrie Hinschen, the man behind the successful YouTube channel Pieces of Work, who was invited by the event organisers to attend the Sydney show.

With the tagline “Bringing the Best (and Worst) of the East to the West”, Corrie’s channel has a huge combined viewing total of over nine million views, with over 56,000 subscribers from around the world.

Being the avid Mohanlal fan he is, Corrie greatly admires and respects the South Indian actor and his work ethic, having seen a multitude of his movies. Of all the movies he has seen, Corrie said his favourite has to be the 2015 blockbuster Drishyam, which earned an estimated 1.1 billion rupees in the box office.

Mohanlal also starred in Pulimurugan, the first Malayalam film to reach a profit of ₹100 crores, and was the star in 2002 internationally acclaimed Bollywood movie, Company, that reached ₹68 crores. He boasts an impressive career spanning over 40 years and has featured in more than 300 films in various languages other than Malayalam, including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada.
