Dallin sends a message from the heart

What sometimes gets lost in the emotion/red hot banter/vitriol of pro sport is the human side of it all. Great to see Dallin Watene-Zelezniak pay tribute to his new baby, born while he was in the NRL bubble in Queensland.

Dallin’s wife Purdy & and family remained in NSW for the birth of his third child but after scoring the first try for the Warriors, the proud Maori & New Zealand Kiwis captain was able to send a ‘rock the cradle’ message of love home to his family via a worldwide audience.

He also mimed “I love you”, by pointing at his eye, his heart and then directly at the camera.

It will be at least a month until Watene Zelezniak will be able to embrace his new child and possibly until the end of the season & he shared his coping mentality with told Stuff NZ: ““For us, we looked at the positives, which are that we’re healthy and being healthy at this time, with the things that are going on around the world is a big blessing.

“My wife is healthy, baby’s healthy, so are the kids and we’ve got a lot of support.”

Rugby league at its best!
