The Indian Premier League 2019 has jumped into week two and the excitement is doubling, along with the drama. Not only did we see the return of the GayleStorm, the week was also filled with thrilling finishes, a controversial run-out, great catches and above all, a super over finish. Here are the highlights of some of the most thrilling matches of the week.

What a match! Great batting, bowling & fielding, the return of the GayleStorm and to add to the drama, a controversial run out. 

Rahane won the toss and put the Kings XI to bat. The crowd favourite Chris Gayle took the Kings XI to a flying start ending up at 79 of 47 balls. Things slowed down a bit for Kings XI Punjab after losing GayleStorm, however, it wasn’t over.

Sarfaraz Khan was in a different mood on the day and trashed 6 sixes towards the end to take the team to a match winning total of 184. In response Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Butler got the Royals to a flying start with a run rate of 10 until R Ashwin bowled a cracking deliver to send Rahane back.

Jos Butler kept the fireworks going before the Kings XI captain R Ashwin got him run out, which went on to become one of the most controversial run-outs of the IPL. Sanju Samson was looking good towards the end, however, the commanding total and the demanding run rate just got onto the Royals.

Kings XI Punjab won the match by 14 runs.

Game 10: Delhi Capitals v Kolkata Knight Riders

370 runs, 15 sixes, & 37 fours were not enough to separate these two sides in this absolute ripper of a match. The first tie of Vivo IPL 2019, which went to the Super Over. 

Shreyas Iyer won the toss for the Capitals and chose to field. The Knight Riders had a shaky start, however, they managed to bring it back together with Andre Russel and the captain DK both finishing with a respectable total, the Knight Riders finished with a strong total of 185.

In response, the Delhi Capitals got a screamer of a start with India Under 19 World Cup captain young Prithvi Shaw firing away right from the start. He finished at an incredible 99 of just 55 balls however the drama had just begun. After the fall of Shaw, things slowed down for the Capitals and match went down to the wire with 2 runs needed in 2 balls.

Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav proved why he is considered one of the best in the business by defending the total and ended up giving just 1 run with the scores of both the teams level. The drama would just not end in this cracker of a match with Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer opening the innings for the Capitals in the Super Over, they did not score as much as they would have wanted, finishing at 10.

With only 11 needed of six balls, Andre Russell and DK came into bat and who would have thought, the Capitals defended the small total after being hit for a 4 on the very first ball. Kagiso Rabada bowled from what we have seen the best over of his life to get the Delhi Capitals through. What a match!

Game 11: Sunrisers Hyderabad v Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore are desperate to end their losing streak and get their first win on the board.

King Kolhi won the toss and elected to bowl first, but he would have surely regretted the decision. Not only did the Sunrisers get off to a flying start, they got 2 x hundreds in one innings and had an opening stand of 185 runs. With both the opening batsmen scoring a century, they finished at a match winning total of 231.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore batting was disappointing yet again and were wrapped up for 113 with the highest scorer being Colin de Grandhomme (37).  

The series of bad luck continues for the Challengers and this loss will surely shake things up in the dressing room.
